Employee Costs (Net Cost)

This page explains how the Employee Costs page functions in Enji. It is used to adjust Net Cost and Billed To Customer for projects and financial reporting.

Finances

The information on this page is used by Enji to calculate Project Margins and create financial reports that leaders can use in making data-driven decisions about resource allocation, project continuation, and strategic planning to maximize profitability.

  • Name: Employee's name.
  • Net Cost: The cost of an employee for the company, including all overhead expenses. It is calculated manually. Net cost records (for all employees) are added monthly via bulk upload. If a record is manually created and then a file is uploaded in bulk, the manually created record will be overwritten. An employee can only have one net cost regardless of the project. The net cost is displayed in three reports – Margin by Project, Margin by Employee, Costs & Margin with Details.
  • Billing Period: The month to which the net cost corresponds.
  • Comments: Additional comments.
  • Project Name: The project where Billed To Customer is loaded for the employee.
  • Billed To Customer: The adjusted amount in the project for the employee, i.e., how much the client paid for the employee for the period. If the value is not set, the Billed to customer in the Margin by Employee report will be calculated using the formulas described for Billed to customer in the Margin by Employee document. Multiple billed-to-customer entries can be added to different projects for the reporting period. They will be summed up in the Margin by Employee report.

The most recent available Employee Cost value is always used in calculations. If an Employee Cost is added for May, and a new Employee Cost is created for July, the calculations will use the Employee Cost for July. To find the current Employee Cost value, use the search by name.
