Project Rates

Salary indicators are not taken into account when calculating margin reports. The only data from this tab used in margin reports are Project Rates.

The following rates are considered when calculating margin reports:

Billing Rate – The rate charged to the customer for each hour of an employee’s work.

  • Manually entered in Admin panel → Salary/Rate → Project rates.
  • Used in Expected income calculation.
  • Set after negotiations with the customer.
  • Generally higher than the internal rate.
  • If this rate is lower than the internal rate, the company incurs losses.
Project Rates

Fixed Price (Fixed Rate) – A fixed amount charged to the customer for a specific period.

  • Manually entered in Admin panel → Salary/Rate → Project rates.
  • Used in Expected income calculation.
  • Set after negotiations with the customer.
  • Differce from the billing rate – the company agrees with the customer to charge a fixed amount regardless of the hours worked.
Project Rates

Internal Rate – The rate indicating how much the company spends on an employee for each hour of their work. Spending != paying

  • Manually entered in Admin panel → Salary/Rate → Project rates.
  • Used in extrapolation.
  • Comprises salary ($/hour), office rent, communication services, Wi-Fi, and taxes. Essentially, this rate is the cost of the employee to the company.
  • Multiple entries for one employee may exist for different months if the employee’s rate changed several times.
Project Rates

Billed to Customer – The actual, corrective amount charged to the customer for a specific person in the project for the month.

  • Manually entered in Admin panel → Salary/Rate → Employee costs.
  • Has the highest priority.
  • Used in Expected income, Margin by Employee calculations.
  • Exceptions in invoicing to the customer, for instance, initially planned to bill the customer $5000 for a developer. However, if they dropped out and the work was not completed, these $5000 may become $3000.
  • Once this indicator is used, it replaces the billing rate/billing fixed price.
  • This parameter is optional and can be added if necessary.
  • Set separately for each employee.
